Brett H. Pyrdek is the founder and managing attorney of Zorya Legal Counsel, LLC. He has 20 years of litigation experience, including civil, commercial, criminal, and quasi-criminal matters. He is a Chicago native and veteran, who leads the firm with a practical approach designed to achieve favorable and cost-effective results for his clients.

Brett created the firm in 2021, after deciding that Big Law was not the place he belonged. He hoped to make a bigger difference in his practice, specifically for small, medium market, and family businesses, as well as for ordinary folks experiencing litigation problems. So, he founded Zorya, where he could take his Wall Street experience and apply it to Main Street.

Zorya, which means the Morning Star or New Dawn, focuses on bringing the light of a new day to litigation problems that otherwise darken the horizon. Brett prides himself on finding common sense solutions for everyday litigation problems faced by everyday people.

Brett brings extensive Big Law and in-house experience from nearly two decades of work at an AmLaw 100 firm and as assistant general counsel at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he handled complex commercial litigation, criminal matters, regulatory inquiries, and internal investigations across the U.S. and international operations. At Zorya, he can now offer the sophistication and skills developed in solving large-scale problems to small firms and ordinary folks at at small-business–friendly rates. Brett is admitted to practice before all state courts in Illinois and before multiple federal U.S. District Courts, as well as the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
